Give Disaster Assistance, Prime Minister of Australia Visit Japan



Prime Minister (PM), Australia Julia Gillard will visit Japan later this month to discuss disaster relief in Japan.

Travel Prime Minister Julia Gillard in Japan will last for four days from April 20. Japan is still struggling to recover the effects of the disaster that has killed more than 12,500 people and approximately 15 thousand people still missing.

Japanese Foreign Ministry said, Gillard who will be accompanied by his partner, Tim Mathieson, will meet with the Emperor of Japan and held talks with Japanese Prime Minister Naoto Kan.

on the steps of recovery for the region and the residents affected by the earthquake and tsunami disaster that shook northeastern Japan on 11 March.

In addition, Kan and Gillard will also negotiate an agreement between the two countries economic ties. Reports the AFP on Saturday (09/04/2011).

Japan is Australia's second largest trading partner after China. Japanese disaster has hurt the Australian economy is estimated to approximately 2 billion Australian dollars.

The Australian Government has also sent rescue teams to Japan along with donations and relief supplies after the devastating earthquake and tsunami.
